As an early 40th birthday present, my wife bought me (us) a new TV for our living room. It’s gorgeous – it’s a Samsung 55″ QLED Q8DT 2020 model (the Costco version). Our previous TV was an 8-year-old Vizio that she bought when she moved into the house. And it was fine. In fact, as a sports fan, I’m a little embarrassed to say that SHE noticed the old TV’s age before I did. But when we got this new television mounted on the wall, the difference was JAW DROPPING. We wish we had watched the first 200 episodes of Hawaii Five-O on this new screen. I watched a special about the volcanos of Iceland – the visuals were spectacular. And the built in surround sound was so good – when there was a thunderstorm on Grey’s Anatomy, our dog ran to the basement.
Why do I bring this up? It’s easy to think your podcast sounds fine – until you are presented with a much nicer alternative. Your sound can be better. Your content can be better. Your music can be better. And by you, I mean all of us. If you’ll indulge me for a quick plug, I am running a special through the end of the year. If you want a professional critique of your podcast, I’ll listen to an entire episode and give you detailed feedback and suggestions for improvements. Normally I charge $99 for this – but it’s only $49 through the end of the year. Here’s a link: https://jagindetroit.com/podcast-recording-packages/

Spotify also says most Podcast listening in India happens at night. I wonder if that corresponds to daylight hours in the US, when content is released. I had a consult with a gentleman in India this week – at noon my time. It was 11pm there. https://newsroom.spotify.com/2020-12-08/new-insights-reveal-podcast-patterns-in-india/?utm_source=podnews.net&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=podnews.net:2020-12-10
